Our pipers can teach anyone how to play. Lots of our new members started our as students and move into full fledged band members.

There are season specific tunes that are rotated in. Each member knows many more. You can work with them on the selection for your event.

Who can take lessons?

We take students of any skill level. Lessons are available to those who aspire to become fully participating members of Tunes of Glory.


When are lessons given?

Lessons are given Wednesday evenings for a minimal charge. The lessons may be structured as individual or group lessons, depending on availability and student numbers.


What materials are need?


  • Piping students must provide their own practice chanter and tutor book. (Please consult with the instructor before purchase.) 
  • At the appropriate time, students will invest in their own bagpipes
  • Drumming students provide their own practice pads and sticks.
  • As members, drumming students will have access to Band drums.



How much experience is needed?

Members need to be proficient in our core tunes in order to be a playing member. 

Do I need to audition?

You do not need to audition in order to start taking lessons. All students must pass an audition before becoming playing members of the band.







What should I expect as a student?

Lessons are given Wednesday evenings for a minimal charge. Students are requested to participate in the parade Color Guard as they are able. 












Can I help the band without playing an instrument?

Absolutely! You can volunteer to be a member of the color guard at one of the parades, you can take a non-playing board member position, you can assist with band management,  join/meetup socially, manage the inventory, and there are always volunteer jobs.
