Meet the Band

We have band members with different backgrounds, experience levels, and locations.

Kolleen Monahan

Pipe Major, Band Director

“I started learning pipes with Tunes of Glory in 2013-2014. While learning pipes, I played bass drum with the band and even competed on the drum. Now, I am full time on the bagpipes, and for some reason, they even made me pipe major. Additionally, I play bassoon with the Dupage Symphony Orchestra and Naperville Winds”

Tim Heywood

Drum Sergeant, Board VP

“I joined Tunes of Glory in August of 2006 and hit the ground running on bass drum. I eventually learned tenor drum and competed on 2007 trading off on bass and tenor with the competition bass drummer.”

Ann Appleyard

Pipe Sergeant, Secretary of the Board

I’ve been piping with Tunes of Glory since 2018. I’ve been pipe sergeant since 2022.
